This UK carpet manufacturer is revealing its success story on a DVD. Axminster is known for top quality, beautiful woven carpets.

Customers like to know more and more about the production of the products they buy. The origin of the product is also important. So the DVD presents the entire carpet production process of Axminster. Production of woven carpets has been recorded on the Devon site. The part about tufted carpet production takes viewers to Ireland. Viewers can also explore Axfelt underlay production.

The full-length version of the DVD will be available for retailers and training purposes. An edited format will be available for individual consumers.

Interest in waste carpet take-back schemes is growing.  Carpet Recycling UK (CRUK) has reported a growing support of diverting material from landfill for recycling.

CRUK’s research suggests that around 75% of retailer’s customers would pay for such service. 74% of surveyed Carpet Foundation members admitted that they would pay for removal of carpet waste by their retailer.

“This high number is very encouraging and would be a significant help in diverting greater waste carpet volumes from landfill” said Jane Garner from Axion Consulting. The association has grown to 60 members across the supply chain, including 14 manufacturing members as core funders and 24 specialist carpet recyclers. Now retailers can find an alternative, cost-saving disposal route to landfill.
